On 26 November, 2025, Roads & Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy laid the foundation stone for a Rs 50 crore road project within the Nalgonda Municipal limits.
The project involves constructing a four-lane road, complete with a central median and lighting, stretching from Nagarjunasagar ‘X’ Roads to the Darveshipuram Yellamma Temple on the Mahbubnagar-Nalgonda route. The works are set to begin within a week. The Minister said, "As Darveshipuram has become an accident-prone area, a CC road, central lighting, and a central median have already been constructed there at a cost of Rs 12 crore,” he stated. This initiative aims to improve safety and traffic conditions in the region.
The Minister mentioned that several internal roads, including the Kothapalli–Musumpalli stretch, along with the rural road network and drainage systems, are being upgraded. Additionally, Rs. 450 crore has been allocated for canal lining under the AMRP to enhance irrigation infrastructure. The Minister also highlighted that major arterial roads in Nalgonda town have been upgraded with medians and lighting, and work on the bypass road is in progress to ease traffic flow.
