Maharashtra CM, Devendra Fadnavis laid the foundation stone of Yogayatan port at Mankhurd, Mumbai. This mid-size terminal will be the second port in Mumbai.
It will have a multi-purpose cargo port for dry bulk cargo, a ship building and ship repair yard, thermal power plant, LNG terminal, container terminal, supply base and passenger terminal.
The port will be located at a distance of 100 metre from the Vashi Creek railway bridge and 10 nautical miles from the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT). Yogayatan group has bought 10 acre of land for the port.
The port will be operational in the next three months. The group is planning to develop the port in multiple phases.
