Foxconn has committed USD 1.5 billion to its India operations through its Singapore-based subsidiary, signaling a major push to expand iPhone production in the country.
This investment comes as Apple intensifies efforts to diversify its supply chain. Karnataka Minister MB Patil announced that Foxconn’s new facility near Bengaluru is nearly ready to begin exporting iPhones to the U.S., with production likely to start in June.
This move is a notable milestone for Karnataka state, enhancing its reputation in global tech manufacturing and boosting foreign investment. The growing involvement of suppliers like Foxconn underscores India’s rising prominence in the global electronics ecosystem, helping Apple reduce its dependence on a single country for its production needs.
