To tackle traffic congestion in Ghaziabad, the Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) has put forward plans for two elevated roads and a flyover.
The first proposal includes a 3.5 km, 4-lane elevated road connecting Raj Nagar Extension to Morti, with an estimated cost of Rs 350 crore. The second is a two km elevated section on GT Road, expected to cost Rs 200 crore. These projects aim to improve traffic flow and provide better connectivity for commuters. GDA Vice-Chairperson Nand Kishore Kalal emphasised that the elevated roads would reduce congestion, especially for long-distance travelers.
Additionally, a 1.5km flyover at the Hapur Chungi intersection, costing Rs 150 crore, is planned to facilitate smoother traffic to National Highway-9. Vice-Chairperson Kalal also suggested considering tunneling infrastructure to further alleviate traffic congestion in the area.
