The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) has cleared a comprehensive Budget of Rs 3,034 crore for FY26, along with a major urban infrastructure package worth Rs 900 crore aimed at easing congestion and addressing the city's rapidly evolving needs.
The decisions were finalised during the 14th GMDA board meeting, chaired by Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on 23 April, 2025. A major proposal includes the construction of flyovers or underpasses at five traffic-clogged junctions—Railway Road Chowk, Sector 5 junction, Krishna Chowk, Rezang La Chowk, and Old Delhi Road-Palam Vihar junction - strategically placed along the upcoming metro corridor from Millennium City Centre to Cyber City.
"The Authority has approved the proposal to construct five grade separators along with the underpass at Bakhtawar Chowk by GMRL as ‘deposit work’ of GMDA. Rather than issuing separate tenders, GMRL will construct these structures. This will avoid delays and ensure seamless execution," a GMDA official said.
To mitigate stormwater issues, the Board has allocated Rs 70 crore to rebuild damaged sections of the master drain network, over 4.2 km long—across Sectors 21, 22, and 23, where infrastructure has deteriorated due to prolonged exposure to sewage. Additional allocations include Rs 110 crore to replace a vital pipeline from Basai water treatment plant to Sector 16, Rs 134 crore to upgrade 15 km of the sewer line network, and Rs 41.8 crore to construct a master road linking NH-8 to Naurangpur, passing through Sectors-78 and 80.
