The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) has approved a geotechnical survey for the construction of a Rs 52-crore flyover at Ambedkar Chowk, located at the intersection of Sectors 45/46 and 51/52.
The initiative is part of a larger traffic decongestion plan and has already received clearance from the Haryana state government. The survey, scheduled from May 25 to June 15, will be conducted by a private consultant and serve as the foundation for a detailed project report (DPR), to be submitted to GMDA. Ambedkar Chowk, a key junction on Vikas Marg in Gurugram, currently faces significant traffic congestion, especially during peak hours, with waiting times often exceeding 10 minutes.
The nearby Artemis Hospital has experienced delays in emergency response due to frequent traffic bottlenecks. The proposed 700-mtrs.-long flyover is expected to be completed within two years of contract allotment. It is part of a broader infrastructure strategy that includes an elevated road along SPR, another flyover at Dadi Sati Chowk, and five underpasses aligned with the Gurugram Metro project.
