Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) has directed Haryana Shahari Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) to prioritise acquiring land for six crucial roads in developing sectors to expedite construction and resolve bottlenecks.
“A meeting was held to discuss the early construction of these roads, legal issues pertaining to acquisition of land and payment of compensation should be taken up as priority and resolved,” said a GMDA official. Among the 20 incomplete roads, GMDA’s engineering branch has highlighted six critical stretches. The Sector 71-73 and 72-72A roads require a 400-mtrs. acquisition to connect to the Subhash Chowk-Hero Honda Chowk road. A 150-mtrs. stretch near Bestech Park View Ananda on Rampura Road remains pending due to a compensation dispute.
Similarly, land issues hinder the expansion of the Sector 66-67 road linking to the Gurugram-Sohna highway. Additionally, officials discussed removing obstacles in constructing storm drains and sewer lines from sectors 81 to 95. An HSVP senior official assured that efforts will be made to resolve the land acquisition issues delaying road projects.
