The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) has finalised a new design for the Vatika Chowk cloverleaf to connect both ends of the elevated Southern Peripheral Road (SPR) at Sohna Highway.
The design aims to ensure seamless traffic movement from all directions by incorporating a trumpet flyover structure with multiple levels. GMDA officials have tasked the consultant with presenting a virtual model to demonstrate real-time vehicle movement, after which the final design will be approved. The new design will also eliminate the need for 2.15 acres of land required in earlier plans.
The project will include elevated roads from Ghata to Vatika Chowk and from Vatika Chowk to NH-48, enhancing connectivity to the Dwarka Expressway and Delhi-Jaipur highway. GMDA CEO PC Meena emphasised that the revised design would allow vehicles to move freely between key areas like Faridabad Road, Golf Course Road, and Sohna Highway without detours.
