Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation (GSPC), in collaboration with Mumbai
based Swan Energy, is planning to expand its Pipavav power project capacity from
1,600 to 2,100 MW in Gujarat.
The proposed capacity expansion is estimated to cost Rs 2,500 crore. The
overall project cost for setting up the 2,100 MW power plant now stands at about
Rs 10,000 crore. Currently, GSPC is in the process of offloading 49 per cent
equity to Swan Energy.
Meanwhile, GSPC has initiated talks with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam for
entering into a long-term PPA for 700 MW.
