GVK Power & Infrastructure is looking forward to selling its Goindwal Sahib power plant in Punjab to NTPC.
Though the paperwork has begun, talks for offloading the project are yet to start.
The coal-based power project, with 2 x 270 MW capacity, has coal linkages with the Tokisud and Seregarha mines from Jharkhand. It is under construction and is expected to be commissioned in the first quarter of FY15. The company is developing the project on BOO basis over 1,000 acre. The project has a 25-year power purchase agreement with Punjab State Electricity Board. It entails an investment of Rs 3,200 crore.
