The Ganga Expressway, a 594-km infrastructure project connecting Meerut to Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh, is nearing completion with 99 percent of earthwork and 82 percent of construction progress in Western Uttar Pradesh.
Initially scheduled for earlier completion, delays have shifted the opening date to 2025 due to environmental restrictions and other challenges. Once operational, the expressway will drastically reduce travel time between Meerut and Prayagraj, boost regional economic development, and improve connectivity through its strategic traversing of 12 districts including Meerut, Hapur, Bulandshahr, and Prayagraj.
With a projected cost of over Rs 36,230 crore, the expressway is a critical component of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s vision for a USD one trillion economy in Uttar Pradesh.
