Godawari Power and Ispat (GPIL) has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the government of Chhattisgarh for setting up of the facilities in Raipur and Bastar region.
The company will set up sponge iron, steel melting shops with CCM, land refining furnace (RLF/VOD/VD), steel, rolling mill each with a capacity of 10,00,000 tpa, coal gassifier/PCI of 1,00,000 N M3/hour, coal-based power of 70 MW and WHRB of 80 MW and oxygen plant of 20,000 of N M3/hour capacity in Raipur.
The facilities at Bastar region will include sponge iron with a capacity of 10,00,000 tpa, ferro alloys/pig iron of 2,50,000/ 5,00,000 tpa, coal-based power of 20 MW and WHRB of 80 MW.
The cost of projects is estimated at Rs 1,400 crore for Raipur and Rs 900 crore for Bastar.
Both the projects will be implemented in phased manner mainly out of internal accruals. The investment will be spread for four to five years after obtaining all regulatory approvals.
The state government will facilitate the company in procuring land, water allocation, coal linkages, facilitate expeditious grant of approvals and recommend the Ministry of Steel, Power, Environment, and Forests, the government of India and also provide all incentives available to the mega/very large industrial projects as per the Industrial Policy.
