Gujarat-based solar panel manufacturer Goldi Solar will invest over Rs 5,000 crore to scale up module manufacturing capacity to six GW as part of its expansion plan. The company's current manufacturing capacity is 2.5 GW.
Goldi Solar will expand the renewable energy business and channelise into auxiliary production, along with aluminium frames, junction boxes, back sheets, and others. As part of its expansion plan, the company will also set a cell manufacturing unit, and later will expand the manufacturing capacity to five GW.
By 2025, the company will make investments for expansion and seeks to employ over 4,500 people from the local regions across various functions by increasing its workforce to over 5,500 by FY25. In collaboration with L&T Public Charitable, Goldi Solar will give skill development training in solar manufacturing space for its workspace.
Moreover, Goldi Solar currently has two module manufacturing plants in Pipodara and Navsari districts of Gujarat.
