The BMC plans to start work on the Goregaon-Mulund Link Road (GMLR) by October 2016. The project is expected to be rolled out in three phases with work on the first two phases to begin in the next two months.
The GMLR project has been proposed to reduce traffic congestion.
The first phase of work will be the construction of the road-over bridge (ROB) in Nahur.
GMLR, a major project, is proposed for west and east link to reduce traffic congestion and will begin from Western Express Highway (WEH) and end at LBS Marg, Mulund. While the BMC is determined on conducting a geo-technical survey, authorities at SGNP fear that conducting the survey might affect the natural habitat around the national park.
