The Union Government has approved various road projects amounting to Rs 1,871
crore for Punjab.
The projects that have received nod included four-laning of
southern bypass Ludhiana to be constructed at Rs 416 crore, NH-95 along
Sidhwan Canal (Rs 200 crore),
Ropar bypass ( Rs 60 crore), Ropar bypass Phase-II (Rs 95 crore) and four
laning of
Ropar-Nawanshahar-Phagwara road ( 700 crore).
Further,
Batala-Mahta-Beas road (34 km), Tanda-Sri Hargobind Pur-Amrtisar road ( 77
km),
Kotkapura-Mukatsar road ( 30 km),
Morinda-Kurali-Siswan-Baddi upto Haryana border road (33 km),
Phillaur-Nakodar-Kapurthala road ( 66 Km) have also been approved at a cost of
Rs 400 crore.
