The government has given in-principle approval for sites for setting up four nuclear power plants.
Nuclear Power Corporation of India (NPCIL) is setting up Gorakhpur, Haryana (GHAVP 1&2) nuclear power projects.
The government approved sites at Gorakhpur in Haryana and Mahi Banswara in Rajasthan to develop the four nuclear power projects of 700 MW each.
It has also approved financial sanction for units 1 & 2 at Gorakhpur (GHAVP 1&2 -- 2 x700 MW) and work on the project has started.
