National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation (NICDC) has received clearance from a key government panel to establish a Rs 5,942 crore Multi Modal Logistics Centre at Dadri in Greater Noida.
Strategically located at the junction of the Eastern and Western Dedicated Freight Corridors and linked to NH34, the Eastern Peripheral Expressway, and Jewar International Airport, the centre aims to become a central freight hub for the National Capital Region and surrounding areas.
Spanning 334 hectares, the facility will be developed in three phases and include mechanised warehouses, specialised storage, and intermodal handling for container, bulk, and break-bulk cargo. It will also offer value-added services such as stacking, labelling, customisation, and cross-docking.
Designed to handle 1.44 million TEUs, 7.8 million tonne of non-containerised cargo, and house three million sq. ft. of warehousing along with 0.3 million sq. ft. of cold storage, the project will be developed through the PPP model. The project, approved by the Public-Private-Partnership Appraisal Committee (PPPAC) chaired by Finance and Economic Affairs Secretary Ajay Seth, will be awarded to the private firm offering the highest minimum guaranteed revenue (MGR) share over a 45-year concession period.
The government will fund Rs 2,337 crore for land acquisition and external infrastructure. Over 90 percent of land has been acquired, and connectivity is slated for completion one month before commercial operations begin.
