The Central Ministry of Roads, Transport and Highways will approve the road projects proposed by the public works department (PWD), Goa, in October 2013.
The PWD has proposed the improvement and widening of three roads in Goa under the central roads funds (CRF) scheme. The cumulative cost of all three proposals is Rs 30.5 crore.
The first proposal is for widening and improvement of the state highway-I from Mapusa-Karaswadda junction to Assonora. The work on the seven km stretch is estimated to cost Rs 11.5 crore.
The second proposal is for improvement, widening and hotmixing of the state highway-II from Assonora to Dodamarg, a stretch of seven km. The work is expected to cost Rs 11 crore.
The third proposal is for widening and improvement of the major district road 23 from Bicholim to Ladfem to Dodamarg, a stretch of nine km. The estimated cost is Rs eight crore.
