Greaves Cotton proposes to set up an automotive engine manufacturing plant in
in Shendra in Aurangabad (Maharashtra). The project is to entail a cost of about
Rs 100 crore.
The company has already made an initial investment of Rs 60 crore which will
have the capacity to produce 80,000 engines annually. The production from the
new plant is likely to commence by end fiscal. The proposed unit is likely to
manufacture both single and twin cylinder engines, meeting all contemporary
emission norms, which are to be primarily supplied to existing as well as new
three-and-four-wheeled small commercial vehicles manufacturers.
Foundation stone for the proposed unit is likely to be laid soon.

Rajendra Darda, Industries Minister of Maharashtra laid the foundation stone
for the project on 22 August 2010.
