TCL, television brand and leading consumer electronics company, held ground breaking ceremony for its first-ever overseas smart integrated manufacturing industrial park in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, on 20 December 2018. The event was attended by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu.
The primary facility of the industrial park is the panel module factory, which is the first overseas production unit of TCL’s panel subsidiary Shenzhen China Star Optoelectronics Technology Company (CSOT).
The CSOT panel module factory will manufacture screens for TVs and mobile phones, with a designed production capacity of eight million 22-inch to 55-inch, large-size TV screens and 30 million 3.5-inch to eight inch, small-size mobile screens per year.
Moreover, the TCL industrial park will also include a smart TV manufacturing facility to efficiently integrate the panel module and TV sets production.
The smart TV manufacturing unit will manufacture six million 32-inch to 65-inch TV sets per year. Also, it will not only serve the TCL brand, but also provide ODM services to other brands in the Indian market.
The TCL industrial park is scheduled to commence from Q4/2019. This is TCL-owned CSOT’s first production unit outside China. The project under ‘Make in India’ initiative will create employment opportunities for the region’s workforce.
