Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has launched the 'Ease of Transportation' initiative aimed at enhancing road infrastructure across the state. This strategy is centered on widening key roads to increase their capacity, ensuring safer, faster, and more efficient travel for commuters.
The initiative includes a substantial investment, with Rs 2,995.32 crore allocated to improve 813.75 km of roads. This includes four-lane expansions, as well as seven-mtrs. and 10-mtrs. widenings on critical routes. Specifically, Rs 1,646.44 crore has been earmarked for the four-laning of 203.41 km of roads across 21 locations. Additionally, Rs 580.16 crore will be dedicated to widening 221.45 km of roads by 10 mtrs., while Rs 768.72 crore will be used for the 7-mtrs. widening of 388.89 km across 25 roads. These projects are expected to drastically reduce traffic bottlenecks and improve the overall quality of service for road users.
The Roads and Buildings Department has been tasked with executing these projects to alleviate the mounting pressure on the road network of the state. The new road designs aim to enhance safety by reducing congestion and facilitating smoother travel.
In addition to these infrastructure projects, CM Patel recently inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 184 new development projects worth Rs 246.31 crore in the Dhandhuka Assembly constituency, wherein the projects are expected to further bolster regional development, contributing to the overall growth of the Bhal region.
