The Gujarat government has signed MoUs with two German companies which will set up facilities in the state, in the area of packaging machinery and specialty chemicals.
During the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit (VGGS) delegation’s visit to Germany, an MoU was signed with Starlinger, which will set up a production base in Gujarat for the first time. The company will invest over seven million Euro to set up a plant to manufacture packaging machinery.
The state government has also signed an investment intention with German specialty chemicals manufacturing company Covestro for 5.7 million Euro. The firm intends to manufacture new products in India.
Meanwhile, MoUs worth Rs 449 crore were signed at the Vibrant Gujarat Vibrant District event held at Porbandar on 25 October, 2023. The state's urban development department signed MoUs with eight real estate developers for smart and sustainable city projects in Ahmedabad, Vadodara, and Surat. Entailing an investment of Rs 7,459.68 crore, these are expected to create employment opportunities for around 4,750 persons and upgrade commercial and residential infrastructure.
