Tile-maker H&R Johnson (India) is planning to set up a manufacturing facility at Panagarh in Bardhaman district of West Bengal by June 2015.
The facility coming up over 65-acre plot. will include four lines, being imported from China, Spain and Italy. However, the company, did not disclosed the investment details for the facility. The unit will manufacture larger tile slabs (3 ft by 3 ft) while earlier it was supposed to focus on tiny tile slabs (of 1 ft by 1 ft). The tenders for the construction of the Panagarh unit have already been floated.
Apart from the upcoming facility in West Bengal, the company has nine tile manufacturing units across India. Also, the company is planning bathroom fittings manufacturing units in Baddi (Himachal Pradesh) and Samba (Jammu & Kashmir), each.
