The Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC) has finalised a Rs 490 crore water management plan for Manesar to address rising demand in its urbanising residential and industrial areas.
The project, which will be executed in four phases by 2031, focuses on supplying both fresh and recycled water while reducing wastewater discharge into drains. Initially funded by HSIIDC, the first two phases will meet a 275 MLD water demand. These phases will include the construction of multiple modular water treatment plants and new pipelines to serve residential sectors and nearby villages. The water will be drawn from the NCR Channel via twin pipelines along the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal Expressway, with a new raw water outlet planned near the Transport Hub.
Phase one, which will be completed by 2027, includes a 30 MLD treatment plant for IMT Manesar and the Transport Hub. The remaining demand will be met with recycled water, compensating for losses due to evaporation and processing.
