Hamburg Port & Logistics Co, the
terminal operator at Germany's Hamburg port, is keen to invest in India's ports
particularly the fourth container terminal being planned at Jawaharlal Nehru
Port in Mumbai.
A final decision on its ability to
participate in the bidding process for the new terminal will depend on the
outcome of a proposed privatisation of the company.
Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG (HHLA)
is currently 100 per cent owned by the city of Hamburg. HHLA had temed up with
United Liner Agencies India in 2004 to bid for the third container terminal at J
N Port.
