Auto ancillary maker, Hirotec India, has commenced work at its new Keeranatham plant in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.
The Keeranatham plant will come up on a 7.1 acre plot with an investment of Rs 40 crore.
Phase-I of the plant will have a 75,000 sq ft built-up area and is likely to be completed by October 2014.
The facility will be into automotive hemming systems and closure (doors, hood and decklid) assembly lines for passenger car manufacturing.
Hirotec India is part of the $1.3 billion Japan-based Hirotec Group. It began its Indian operations in 2005 and became a 100 per cent subsidiary of Hirotec in 2010. So far, the company has invested about Rs 25 crore in its existing facilities.
