Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) is mulling
to set up a second plant in Rajasthan at an investment of Rs 1,100 crore with an
installed capacity of 12 lakh units per annum.
HMSI plans to set up the proposed plant near Bhiwadi in
Rajasthan in two phases. The phase I, entailing an investment of Rs 500 crore
will be set up with an capacity of six lakh units per annum over five years. In
phase II, the company intends to increase the capacity to 12 lakh units per
annum, which will entail investment of Rs 600 crore.
The company expects to perform the bhoomi poojan and
construction work is likely to begin this month.
