The Indian Institute of Management Nagpur (IIM-Nagpur) and ONGC Green have signed a collaboration agreement on 21 December, 2025 to advance research and capacity building in the field of green and future energy.
Under the memorandum of understanding (MoU), the two organisations will work together on various initiatives related to environmental sustainability, renewable energy integration, carbon markets, energy storage, e-mobility policies, and leadership development. The agreement was signed by IIM-Nagpur Director Bhimaraya Metri and ONGC Green’s Chief Operating Officer Harsh Nupur Joshi. ONGC Green, the renewable energy arm of Oil & Natural Gas Corporation, is targeting 10 GW of green energy capacity by 2030, focusing on solar, wind, biofuels, and green hydrogen projects.
The rapid transformation of the energy sector is emphasised, with the goal to support India's net-zero target by 2070, with green hydrogen as a key game-changer. Director Metri added that the partnership will leverage IIM-Nagpur’s academic expertise with ONGC Green's operational experience.
