IKEA India is planning to foray in Maharashtra by opening a store in Mumbai, Maharashtra. The company plans to enter Mumbai with its full offer -- large format store, city centre smaller stores and e-commerce to meet many more customers in 2019.
IKEA India is planning to create 5,000 direct and 5,000 indirect jobs in coming years in Maharashtra to support its operations. Starting with its Distribution Centre in Chakan, Pune, to its online and offline stores, IKEA India expects to create opportunities across competencies like merchandising, store operations, supply chain and allied assembly services.
The first big format store will be in Turbhe, Navi Mumbai and employ 1,000 direct co-workers and 1,500 indirect co-workers for various services.
