Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) has drawn up a long-term
plant of setting up ten new LPG bottling plants throughout the country. The
investment entailed, in nominal terms, is around Rs.285 crore. The ten new
plants are expected to raise the capacity by 3.98 lakh tonnes per annum.

Meanwhile, IOC already has twenty
on-going LPG bottling plant projects envisaging a total capacity of 5.46 lakh tonnes
per annum, and an investment of Rs.543.75 crore.
At present, IOC has 55 LPG bottling plants in the country with a total
capacity of 2.5 million tonnes per annum. The commissioning of all the 30
projects in question, would raise the number of IOC’s LPG bottling to 85 and
the total capacity to around 3.44 million tonnes per annum.
