Telecom equipment manufacturer ITI has won a Rs 167 crore contract from Maharashtra’s Rural Development Department, which would boost grassroots digital governance.
The work involves implementing the Aaple Sarkar Seva Kendra (ASSK) project across rural areas. The initiative will establish and manage ASSK centres in Gram Panchayats of Chatrapathi Sambhaji Nagar, Nagpur, and Amaravati regions.
The scope includes one year of system maintenance and deploying technical manpower. According to ITI Chairman and Managing Director Rajesh Rai, the project aims to strengthen the Panchayati Raj System by delivering digital citizen services, enhancing transparency, efficiency, and accessibility in rural governance. ITI operates six manufacturing units and an R&D centre in Bengaluru.
This contract underlines Maharashtra’s commitment to grassroots digital governance and reinforces ITI’s growing presence in the e-governance sector.
