The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has envisaged traffic improvement scheme at Chheda Nagar Junction, Ghatkopar (East) on Eastern Express Highway in Mumbai.
J Kumar Infraprojects has bagged a contract for road improvement project in Mumbai. As confirmed by Projects Today, work has commenced on the road improvement project. To support the project, MMRDA has been allotted Rs 20 crore from the state budget 2017.
The scope of work involves construction of 680 mtr long and three-lane wide flyover from Sion towards Thane running parallel to the existing three-lane flyover. The construction of 1,240 mtr long two-lane flyover will run from above the existing Chheda Nagar flyover and carry traffic coming from Navi Mumbai towards Thane.
The traffic improvement scheme also involves construction of 650 mtr long two-lane elevated road to connect the existing Chheda Nagar flyover with Amar Mahal Junction flyover. The MMRDA is confident of completing the projects by 2021.
