JK Cement has announced a major greenfield expansion project worth Rs 4,805 crore, approved by its board, to enhance cement manufacturing capacity.
The plan includes setting up a clinkerisation unit of four MnTPA and a cement grinding unit of three MnTPA at Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. Additionally, the company will establish two split grinding units, each of two MnTPA, in Rajasthan and Punjab. According to its regulatory filing, this large-scale investment reflects JK Cement’s commitment to strengthening its presence in India’s rapidly growing infrastructure and construction sectors.
Earlier this year, JK Cement acquired a majority stake in Jammu & Kashmir-based Saifco Cements, further boosting its regional footprint. Currently, the company’s grey cement capacity stands at 25.2 MnTPA, complemented by a global leadership position in white cement with 1.12 MnTPA capacity in India and a wall putty capacity of 1.33 MnTPA. The expansion is expected to solidify JK Cement’s position in the highly competitive cement industry and support long-term growth.
