JSW Energy has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Swaziland Electricity Company (SEC) and the government of the kingdom of Swaziland to build a thermal power plant in Swaziland.
JSW Energy, in consultation with SEC, will determine the capacity of the power plant to be built.
Based on the coal resources found during exploration of around 16,000 ha of land by JSW Energy, under a prospecting licence grant, the capacity of the thermal power plant to be set up in Swaziland will be decided.
In addition, both the companies will explore the possibility of exporting power to neighbouring countries that are linked through common transmission network.
