The Haryana district administration has formed a joint panel to address the land acquisition hurdles delaying the Haryana Orbital Rail Corridor (HORC) project.

This team, comprising members from the Haryana State Industrial & Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC) and the Haryana Rail Infrastructure Development Corporation (HRIDC), will inspect and identify the land to be transferred for the project, ensuring clear marking at the site.

The HORC, a 126-km railway line, was first proposed with the foundation stone laid in October 2022. It will connect Palwal to Sonipat, passing through Sohna, Manesar, and Kharkhoda, and will link with the dedicated freight corridor and several Indian Railways stations. The project is divided into two parts: a 30 km stretch from Palwal to Patli, and a 96 km route between Patli and Sonipat.

Part of the route, between Manesar and Patli, was made operational in 2025, providing access to the Maruti plant. Deputy Commissioner Ajay Kumar emphasized the need for expedited compensation settlements and the swift completion of structure valuations to avoid delays. "Project work should not be hindered at any level," he stated.
