Kalyan Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) is planning to build four new water reservoirs in Kalyan and Dombivli, in order to solve issues related to water supply to the city.
Both, Kalyan and Dombivli cities receive 270 million ltr of water daily from Kalyan Dombivli Municipal Corporation's sources, which supply most of it. The rest is obtained from the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC).
The KDMC is planning to stop the water supply from MIDC which has hiked its price and is looking forward to building four new water reservoirs at Ambivali, Kabulsingh Road, Tisgaon in Kalyan, and at Aayre village in Dombivli.
Along with water supply through reservoirs, the KDMC is also planning to provide power using two feeders. Besides, the civic body is also looking forward to setting up a control room to monitor water supply in the city.
Also, Kalyan Dombivli Municipal Corporation is looking forward to replacing old pipelines in the city.
