KRBL, known for its India Gate basmati and non-basmati rice, has forayed into the edible oils segment, targeting Rs 200–300 crore in sales over the next three years.
As per Ayush Gupta, India Business Head at KRBL, the company is also exploring additional staples such as atta (flour) and value-added processed foods under the India Gate brand. The edible oil initiative began with a soft launch in February of two rice bran oil variants—India Gate Uplife Gut Pro and Lite—priced between Rs 192–199 per litre. The company is positioning the brand as premium, with the new products.
Currently available in Delhi-NCR and Mumbai, the products are sold via modern trade, e-commerce, and quick commerce channels, with general trade to follow. The company is outsourcing oil refining until volumes justify in-house operations.
KRBL aims to sell 2,000 tonne of oil and generate Rs 50 crore in revenue in FY25, scaling up to 8,000–10,000 tonne within three years.
