Telangana Agriculture Minister Thummala Nageswara Rao has announced plans to establish oil palm processing factories in every district, with Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy set to inaugurate a major facility in Siddipet this month.
On 11 August, 2025, Agriculture Minister Rao and Panchayat Raj Minister Danasari Anasuya (Seethakka) laid the foundation for a new oil palm unit at Incherla, Mulugu district. Mulugu’s strong farming heritage has bene highlighted and current 5,000-acre oil palm cultivation is set to double with expansion. He urged farmers to embrace oil palm and horticulture, supported by awareness drives. He also noted Mulugu’s tourism potential, citing the Karregutta tourist corridor development.
An IT company will also open in Mulugu on August 18, inaugurated by IT Minister D Sridhar Babu, with the state providing a permanent facility.
