In a strategic push to expand its innovation and technology ecosystem, the Karnataka government concluded a 10-day roadshow across the United States, securing prospective investments worth Rs 5,500 crore.
These investments, spanning talent acquisition, infrastructure, R&D, and partnerships, are expected to generate over employment opportunities or 7,200 people, with further deals in progress. Organised by the Department of Electronics, IT and Biotechnology, the roadshow covered Boston, New York, and San Francisco from June 16 to 25. The delegation, led by Dr Ekroop Caur (Secretary, IT/BT) and Hoskote MLA Sharath Bachegowda, engaged with 120+ companies, signed multiple MoUs and Letters of Intent, and promoted Karnataka’s policy strengths and skilled talent in sectors such as biotechnology, ESDM, and deep tech.
Karnataka participated in the BIO International Convention in Boston and the Design Automation Conference (DAC) in San Francisco, showcasing its innovation capabilities. Academic collaborations were explored with MIT and Stanford University’s StartX incubator, including discussions on fabless chip design, AI-driven education, and startup incubation.
The state now plans deeper collaboration with StartX, offering subsidised infrastructure, regulatory support, and access to initiatives like Elevate, LEAP, and Beyond Bengaluru to attract global startups to India.
