The Karnataka government has approved a project by Foxconn Hon Hai Technology (FHH) India Mega Development which plans to make an investment of around Rs 8,000 crore. The project is expected to create job opportunities for around 50,000 people in the state.
Foxconn’s project is among those cleared by the State High Level Clearance Committee (SHLCC), which recently approved 18 projects with a total projected investment of Rs 75,393.57 crore. Of these, 10 are greenfield projects and five are expansion projects, and three are additional projects.
The proposals are in the area of green hydrogen, ethanol production, wind energy, electrical and electronic items assembling, lithium batteries and electric vehicles, and cement and steel. The cleared project proposals were of Amplus Active, Ayana Renewable Power Six, and Tata Advanced Systems.
