The Karnataka Government is expected to construct 634 km of roads in the
state with help of the Rs 1,250 crore loan from Asian Development Bank.
Some of the identified projects are the 68-km Magadi-Dobbaspet road; 23-km
Pavagada stretch upto Andhra Pradesh border; Gadag-Mundargi (72 km);
Mudgal-Gangavathi (74 km); Saundatti-Hulikatti (38 km); Ramadurg- NH 218 (45
km); Badami - Pattadakal (21 km) and the 108 km Gubbi-Chandrasekharapura
section.
Also, 14 km from Jagalur upto State Highway-19, Padubidri-Karkala (27 km
length), 53 km Davangere-Santhebennur, and 57 km of Channagiri-Birur are also to
be developed.
The state government has also decided to lay cement roads in Ghat sections of
Shimoga, Udupi, Dakshina Kannada, Uttara Kannada and Hassan at an outlay of Rs
100 crore.
