Kerala will get power from Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant (KNPP) in Tamil Nadu when the work on power is completed.
Kerala will get 266 MW power from KNPP when the power plant is commissioned to its full capacity of 2x1000 MW. Of which, the state will get 133 MW of electricity on completion of unit I with a capacity to generate 1000 MW power while the remaining 133 MW electricity will be distributed after completion of the unit II.
Work of laying 400 KV line to carry power from Kudankulam to Madakkathara near Thrissur had been entrusted with the Power Grid Corporation of India.
