The newly-constructed Kiranpani-Aronda bridge will soon be open for traffic after months of delay due to settlement issues between the two states - Goa and Maharashtra.
The work on the newly-constructed Kiranpani-Aronda bridge was completed months ago but the Goa Government was reluctant to its opening, fearing traffic congestion. The 300 mtrs-long bridge was funded by the Maharashtra Government. The road connecting the bridge from Maharashtra's side has already been given the status of a state highway.
The bridge will be open only to two and four wheelers. Heavy vehicles will not be allowed to enter Goa from this bridge as if the bridge is opened for transport, there will be traffic jams for hours.
