Coimbatore-based LG Balakrishnan & Bros (LGB), manufacturer of two-wheeler automotive chains, plans to invest Rs 40 crore to expand its factory at Oragadam, near Chennai in Tamil Nadu.
This investment will increase the manufacturing area by 9,500 sq. mtrs., enabling the production of sprockets, automotive chains, assembled engines, and aluminium die-cast parts. The Oragadam facility, located in Vallam Vadagal, currently manufactures fine-blanked components, sprockets, and aerospace parts. So far, LGB has invested Rs 76.64 crore in the facility, and with this additional outlay, the total investment will rise to Rs 116.42 crore.
In addition to this expansion, LGB is setting up a new factory in Nagpur to produce power transmission chains and related products for automotive and industrial applications. Operating 24 manufacturing facilities across India and one in the US, LGB continues to solidify its leadership position. This expansion underscores LGB's commitment to scaling operations and catering to growing demand in the domestic and international markets.
LGB, marketing its products under the Rolon brand, commands over 60 percent in the domestic two-wheeler chain market, and derives over 30 percent revenues from the domestic aftermarket.
