The Power Transmission & Distribution Business of Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has secured EPC orders, which include transmission system expansion works to evacuate and integrate Renewable Energy (RE) projects in Gujarat and Rajasthan.
The turnkey packages will be for setting up 365 km of 765 kV double circuit transmission lines. In Rajasthan, it will facilitate evacuation of solar energy from the Ramgarh, Fategarh and Bhadla complexes, and in Gujarat, the network expansion is towards integrating the Khavda RE potential zone.
Another order is for implementing an Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS) in the Greater Mumbai area. The work component includes field survey, design & implementation of SCADA/DMS, outage management system, field force automation, dispatcher training simulator, along with associated hardware and networking systems.
Yet another order is for the development of distribution infrastructure in Chhattisgarh under the RDSS Scheme. It entails carrying out loss reduction works comprising feeder segregation/ bifurcation, overload mitigation, high voltage distribution and armored cabling, along with GIS asset mapping.
The business segment has also won overseas orders for substation and transmission line works in Saudi Arabia, Malaysia and Thailand.
