L&T’s Hydrocarbon Onshore business (L&T Onshore) has secured a major contract from Bharat Petroleum Corporation (BPCL).
The order encompasses the engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning of a linear low-density polyethylene/high-density polyethylene (LLDPE/HDPE) Swing Unit at Bina, Madhya Pradesh. The unit will consist of two trains with a capacity of 575 KTPA each, making it India’s largest LLDPE/HDPE Swing Unit, setting a new benchmark in polyethylene production. The project is part of BPCL’s Bina Petrochemicals & Refinery Expansion Project, which aims to enhance the refinery's capacity from 7.8 MMTPA to approx. 11 MMTPA.
The development aligns with India’s 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat' vision by boosting domestic manufacturing and increasing self-sufficiency in polymer production. L&T Onshore will execute the project on a lump sum turnkey basis, providing comprehensive solutions across various hydrocarbon sectors.
