The land acquisition process has been completed for 9,900 MW nuclear power plant in Jaitapur, Maharashtra. The state government was assisting the Central government in acquiring the land for the project.
The project is being undertaken by the Nuclear Power Corporation of India (NPCIL) and the Electricite de France (EDF), a French power utility firm. The Jaitapur nuclear power plant comprises six reactors.
An Industrial Way Forward Agreement for the implementation of the project was signed on 10 March 2018 between NPCIL and Electricite de France.
