NTPC’s 4,000 MW Lara thermal power project will go on stream by March 2017 with the commissioning of its first 800 MW unit. The project set up in Chhattisgarh will require an investment of about Rs 30,000 crore.
The project is based on super critical technology and coal from Talaipalli mine will be supplied to the Lara Super Thermal Power Project as per the MoU signed between NTPC and the government of Chhattisgarh.
Power generated from the Lara project will be supplied to Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra and Goa.
