Four months after Lodha Developers has signed a Rs 30,000 crore memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Maharashtra government to develop a data centre, the company has committed an additional Rs one lakh crore to the project.
On 19 January, Abhishek Lodha, the MD and CEO of Lodha, formalised the new MoU with the Maharashtra government during the World Economic Forum in Davos. The total investment of Rs 1.3 lakh crore will fund a 2.5 GW data centre park, set to be the largest of its kind in India. The Park will create over 16,000 direct and indirect employment and host international and domestic players, with Amazon and Singapore's STT Global Data Centres already acquiring land.
"The state has already scaled newer heights under the leadership of Shri Devendra Fadnavis, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Maharashtra. His vision and actions directed towards developed Maharashtra, gives us immense confidence in committing to such a large investment," said Abhishek Lodha, MD and CEO of Lodha Developers, highlighting the state’s development and the company’s long-term vision for growth.
