In regard to the land acquisition for plots in the Education City being developed on Mohan Road, 15 farmers have signed the agreement and handed over possession of their land to the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA). This has resulted in the acquisition of more than 12 hectares of land for the residential scheme.
The committee formed by LDA vice-chairman Prathamesh Kumar initiated the process of signing agreements with farmers in the Pyarepur village on a consensual basis 15 days ago. Around 785 acres of land in Pyarepur and Kaliyakheda villages had been previously acquired for the scheme.
The development work for roads, sewers, water supply, electrification and drainage will commence soon on the acquired land, with a tender of Rs 225 crore issued for the first phase. The scheme will be developed on the lines of Panchkula-Chandigarh in the mentioned villages.
However, farmers in Pyarepur raised objections due to lower compensation received compared to those in Kaliyakheda. In a recent LDA board meeting, a proposal was passed to increase the compensation rate for Pyarepur landowners, and officials have set up a camp to negotiate an agreement with farmers.
